Mama (January 2013)

Whoa… Now this looks like a very scary movie indeed. This is about 2 girls left to fend for themselves, living in what appears to be a house abandoned for years. They are taken in by their uncle and that is when the real fun begins. It seems that they really weren’t alone after all. It doesn’t seem to be like one of the old horror movies from the 80′s or 90′s. This has a new, original feel to it. The movie looks creepy as hell and I cannot wait to see this one.

Carrie (2013)

This proves to be an interesting remake I’m looking forward to seeing. Chloe Grace Moretz plays Carrie. She was great in the movie “Let Me In” and kick ass in the movie “Kick Ass”. I’m interested to her in this role. Her mother is played by Julianne Moore who even though is an amazing actress, I personally cannot see her being the wicked, bible-thumping bitch that she needs to be to pull this role off.

Hopefully, this will be reminiscent of the old horror movies from back in the day.

Lets add it up: They made “The Rage: Carrie 2″ in 1999 and it flopped. They did a made for TV movie “Carrie” in 2002 and I thought that it sucked. With Chloe Grace Moretz & Julianne Moore playing the main characters, I have a good feeling about this one. I hope I’m right.

However, my true and overall thought on this is…. Awesome, another remake of a great classic. I guess that there are no more interesting movie scripts piling up on producer desks in Hollywood these days.

Evil Dead – remake to be released 2013

Mia, a young woman struggling with sobriety, heads to a remote cabin with her brother and a group of friends, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads to danger and horror.

I love the original Evil Dead. Sam Raimi, in my opinion, knocked it out of the part. Only to be matched by Evil Dead 2. I cannot wait for this one! I just hope that it stays true to the form of the first one. I needs to be quirky, creepy & funny or I’ll be disappointed. or will I??

I hope that the powers that are involved with this remake don’t screw it up like we see with too many other remakes of great films. “A Nightmare on Elm St.” is a perfect example of a great, eerie, spooky and over kick-ass horror flick that was turned into a slow moving, boring non-creepy drama.
