The Devils Rain

The movie is about a Satanic cult in middle American that have the awesome ability giving them the power to melt their victims. The fun comes in when one of the children of an earlier victim is out to destroy them and their cult.

The Devil’s Rain came out in 1975 starring Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, John Travolta & Tom Skerritt. I saw this movie years later, sometime in the early 80′s when I was a kid. This movie scared the crap out of me and I loved every minute of it.

It’s the first movie that I can recall the melting of someone’s face. Of course that vision was immortalized in the ending scene of Raiders of the lost ark. Though I haven’t seen it for quite some time, I cannot wait to see it again. Though I’m sure it cannot stand up to the scare and creeps that we get from today’s horror moves but I’m certain, especially for an old horror movie, that it will make me think twice about befriending strangers in a small town on a road trip.

The special affects in this one are actually quite good for being a 1975 movie with the limited technical computer generated techniques that are used today. As for the acting, well, just look at who the starring cast is and it speaks for itself.

I definitely suggest giving this one a try, I’m sure that it’s available for streaming on Amazon. It’s not available for streaming on NetFlix but they may have it on DVD.
